A highlight of Osborne's life was meeting Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and attending his Nobel Peace Prize award ceremony, in 1964. Self-appointed black ops watchdog, Osborne has re-opened the investigation of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., who was a target of US government dirty tricks program COINTEL PRO* Also, he is investigating transnational crime, especially organized drug trade and more.
Osborne is interviewed in Michael C. Ruppert's book Crossing the Rubicon, calling Ruppert's source Mike Vreeland a "dangle" or piece of intelligence bait.
“I believe that, from the information I have seen, “Mike” Vreeland tried to pass information to the Canadian government that should have been passed to the US government. This information had to do with the attacks of September 11. Whatever other attempts were made by Vreeland and his attorneys to alert US and Canadian officials of the attacks, it is clear he did pass information about the pending attacks to his guards in August. I am willing to go to the Secretary of the Navy to determine whether or not he was actually a Navy officer.
“I know that there have been other US citizens with a similar background used on missions similar to what is alleged by Vreeland. This man fits a pattern. I would like for the Secret Sevice to put him on a polygraph.” --LMO
*COINTELPRO was a covert FBI counter-intelligence operation of the 60s and early 70s, turned against American citizens. It enabled the FBI and police to exacerbate the movements' internal stresses until beleaguered activists turned on one another. Whites were pitted against Blacks, Blacks against Chicanos and Puerto Ricans, students against workers, workers against people on welfare, men against women, religious activists against atheists, Christians against Jews, Jews against Muslims. "Anonymous" accusations of infidelity ripped couples apart. Backers of women's and gay liberation were attacked. Money was repeatedly stolen and precious equipment sabotaged to intensify pressure and sow suspicion and mistrust.

Leutrell Osborne is

WISDOM BORN OF EXPERIENCE
During his 27 years of service as a CIA Case Officer and Communications Security Officer, “Mike”, as he was known by his colleagues and contacts throughout the intelligence community, served in over 30 countries. As a CIA Spy Manager, he supervised CIA agents, spies and assets on 3 continents in what historians and so-called espionage experts have termed the most fertile period of domestic and international spying of the modern era.
He continues to perform threat analyses for both public and private sector clients, and is considered a counter-terrorism expert. This fact was underscored after the 9/11 attacks when he was called to appear on BET with one of the key members of Congress to provide insight into the attacks.
In l989, “Mike” obtained several temporary federal appointments and eventually secured a position at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) for five years. Given his unique background one may say that he resumed his continued in service to his government, accepting a position at OPM where he performed as Transformation Management Officer (code named “Change Agent”).
The position at OPM was very familiar to him – one in which he served for six years in the CIA’s ComSec Division, where he re-invented processes and significantly impacted/changed practices of the intelligence community cultivating communications security. While at OPM, Mr. Osborne oversaw programs of the Small Business Administration (SBA), vociferously advocating for small business participation in government contracting. During his OPM tenure, he also served as Chair of the Office of Small Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) Council, coordinating the Federal Government small business programs.
After 31 total years of Federal Government service, he retired and turned his attention to the private sector. Currently, he is the Founder and President of Leutrell Osborne & Associates (LOA) and provides security consulting and business re-engineering consulting to enterprises seeking to do business with the Federal Government.

Feb. 2007: CNN Sunday Morning appearance, Black History Month. Osborne and his mother were the first black mother/son to work at CIA. He was one of the first black CIA Case Officers, a "spymaster". Osborne claims it was his mother's destiny to raise children who would uphold Justice.

Young Leutrell was interested in becoming a spy by age 12 because his mother worked in a clerical position at the CIA. Maybe that’s why his keyword is “karma”. By 17 his course was set and he began special photography courses. He finished college and continued to acquire core skills, such as four foreign languages.
He became a spy supervisor: “In the CIA Operations Directorate, that's where all of the case officers are. They are the supervisors of CIA spies. Everything is set around basically case officers because they are the kings. And they are the people in the agency who make things happen, as far as collecting intelligence and running what we call clandestine operations.”
The Spy Who Came Out of the Cold War
Osborne’s advice for would-be managers of spies? “Don't be afraid and don't take no for an answer. Don't let anybody tell you can't learn enough language, you don't know how to do things. All of those things that people tell you, don't believe it. Because it is people trying to keep you out of the good stuff.”
A highlight of Osborne’s life was attending the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. while he was stationed in Europe in 1964. Just 25, he spent a precious hour with the civil rights leader.
Later, Osborne found disturbing new details investigating King's untimely death, identifying his attackers as CIA agents or at least "back pocket" agents. He found E. Howard Hunt may have been involved in the MLK assassination. When Osborne learned of the deaths of many associated with the investigation of King such as two judges and six FBI Special Agents (SAs), Osborne said, "There has to be fire where there is smoke."
"In simple language the US Government need to increase oversight on Covert Action intelligence operations because so many fail and backfire."
